January 29, 2017 | How Bryce Dallas Howard Got Ready For The SAG Awards |

— Over the years we have seen the magic that Adir Abergel and Kara Yoshimoto Bua create when they work together, so when we heard that they were Bryce Dallas Howard’s glam squad for the SAG Awards (she’s nominated for Black Mirror!), we knew right away that we had to be there to capture all of the BTS action and glamour.

January 29, 2017 — “Bryce Dallas Howard: The Everywoman’s Red Carpet Icon”

“It’s a dress that I ordered late last year from Nordstrom,” Howard told Vanity Fair, via phone from Los Angeles earlier this month, “and I wasn’t sure exactly what I was necessarily going to use it for.” She was waiting for the right event, and Sunday’s ceremony, where she is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television for Black Mirror, was it. She paid $308. “I’ve done more press in the last few years than I’ve done in my entire career,” Howard said, “and it has been so relaxing, and so fun, and so empowering.”

January 27, 2017 | Bryce Dallas Howard’s Most Memorable Red Carpet Looks from the Last 13 Years |

Bryce Dallas Howard is one of our favorite stars to watch on the red carpet because of her elegant Old Hollywood aesthetic and because she’s known for buying her gowns at department stores sans stylist! So in anticipation of her 2017 SAG Awards red carpet moment this Sunday night (she’s nominated for Black Mirror!) we’re looking back at her red carpet evolution from 2004 to today.

January 27, 2017 — “Bryce Dallas Howard talks ‘Gold,’ NYU and high-heel backlash”

I hear you’ve got plans to return to NYU to finish your degree.
“Well, it’s something that I’ve been chipping away at for far too long, but really enjoying myself. I’ll finish it up by actually being able to attend classes. You know, it’s not the most straight forward way to do everything online.”

Any place you’re looking forward to going when you return to college life?
“Angelica Kitchen I’m really into. … And, I mean, I just like to hang out in the West Village, mostly.”

Regarding the “Jurassic World” sequel, there’s whispers the heels will be coming off for your character, Claire, this time.
“Honestly? [Because of the high-heel backlash in the 2015 film] now I want her to wear heels. Plus, I became such an expert at ankle exercises, you have no idea.”

January 27, 2017 — “Bryce Dallas Howard interview: Gold, Black Mirror and Jurassic World 2″

“It’s just fun getting to work with him because he’s at this moment in his career where there’s so much creativity, exploration and courageousness. On set, it was so fun because we would shoot and shoot and shoot and at a certain point you lost track of when they were actually filming. Scenes would come alive. I haven’t always felt that I’ve been able to inhabit a character in the way that I got to inhabit Kay.”

January 26, 2017 — “Bryce Dallas Howard Just May Be the Happiest Person in Hollywood”

“And when reflecting on the attention and accolades surrounding Black Mirror in particular, Howard is probably more frank than most. “Honestly, what it comes down to is that I feel acknowledged as an actor if I get the opportunity to work or if I get invited to callbacks or if I’m getting invited to be in the room,” she says. “That to me, honestly, is the satisfaction that I crave.”

January 25, 2017 — “Bryce Dallas Howard talks Jurassic World sequel, digging deep in Gold and her Matthew McConaughey teen crush”

Q: Why did you pick the Gold part?
A: It was interesting for me to get into this, because the mindset was different. I had just finished Jurassic World and Pete’s Dragon.

Q: Do you enjoy playing diametrically opposed roles?
A: I’ve been doing this the whole time I’ve been acting. In college (New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts), I’d go from edgy avant-garde to street theatre stuff. There would always be this darkness and then light.

Q: Are you preparing for Jurassic World 2 in London?
A: We’re figuring it out now. The kids are coming out for their breaks and during the summer.

January 24, 2017 — “Why Bryce Dallas Howard Kept Her Daughter’s Style Gender-Neutral”

“My [original] approach was that she was gonna wear primarily hand-me-downs from her brother,” Howard, who stars alongside Matthew McConaughey in the crime adventure film Gold, tells PEOPLE Now of her little girl Beatrice Jean, 5. “And that’s what I did. She was bald for a very long time, and so gender [was] a little unclear,” adds the actress, 35. “But that was fine, and there was no problem. I really wanted to wait for her to lead me in a certain direction.”

January 25, 2017 — “Bryce Dallas Howard on developing her character in ‘Gold’ and growing up in Hollywood”

““There were two ways, really. One was through the hair and costumes and working with the costume designer and developing that instinct — this is her, this is not her — then looking in the mirror at the finished product. ‘Who are you? What would I think of that lady?’ And the other way, I watched Urban Cowboy with Debra Winger again, and I was just — the way she was, so present and alive and passionate, yet also, how dysfunctional and destructive their relationship was. I was like, ‘I think I know this couple. I think I can recognize this kind of partnership.’”

January 23, 2017 — “On Buying Her Red Carpet Dresses: ‘I Want to Feel Good’

“I have a few girlfriends I look up to in terms of style. I went to college with Daphne Javitch and Katherine Waterston. Daphne and Katherine are really good friends. They were at various times in my young life — I was their project. They’re supportive girlfriends,” says Howard. “I had to accept that loungewear is not acceptable in all circumstances. It was more about having fun and figuring it out. When I was 20, all I wanted to do was look 38. Now, here I am, I’m almost 36 — yes, a blazer is going to always work! Daphne and Katherine would show me paintings of women with curves. Look how sensual this is. They would encourage that.”

January 18, 2017 — “In My Library: Bryce Dallas Howard

Here’s what’s in her library:

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
A boy named Santiago has a dream about a treasure hidden in the Egyptian pyramids, and journeys to find it. It’s almost like Siddhartha’s journey, as he grows and learns lessons and falls in love and ultimately comes back to where he began, where the treasure was all along. This was the first book I bought multiple copies of. I gave one to my father for Christmas. He loved it!

Unsubscribe by Jocelyn K. Glei
This is basically a self-help book that helps you manage your addiction to e-mail. It’s stupid: If I hear from someone I care about, I angst about my e-mail back and not answer, but I’ll answer a stranger promptly! I’m always apologizing. This book helped show me you can really just say no.

The Swans of Fifth Avenue by Melanie Benjamin
This is a fictional but heavily researched account of the most powerful and glamorous society women in New York in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, women like Babe Paley, who were great friends with Truman Capote before he betrayed them. I heard about the swans as a teenager and became obsessed with them. I’ve optioned the book and want to turn it into a miniseries.

Just Kids by Patti Smith
Smith’s memoir is largely about her friendship with Robert Mapplethorpe, which started when they were teenagers in New York. My late teens were spent downtown with friends, and we went through a lot of ups and downs. This book is heartbreaking, warming and honest.
